Dr. Peter Vila’s commitment to service began early in his medical career. While at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, he led several medical mission trips to San Pedro Sula, Honduras. As one of the only fluent Spanish speakers on the team, Dr. Vila played a key role in organizing and delivering week-long mobile medical care to underserved communities. These experiences helped shape his belief that a physician’s responsibility extends far beyond the clinic—and that surgical skill can be a powerful tool for healing in every sense.

Now based in Portland, Dr. Vila continues to give back by supporting charitable organizations and events that uplift the local community.
