How quickly can you get back to normal life after a facelift?

This question is discussed at literally every single consultation I do, because people have lives and want to get back to them after surgery.

For 2 weeks, there is bruising and swelling that is not really able to be covered up with makeup, so that is a good time to hide out. After the first couple of weeks, a little bit of makeup on the incisions and your surgery is generally undetectable, even though there is still swelling present.

This awesome patient is 1 month out from an extended deep plane face and neck lift. Her surgery was interesting because she had a previously placed chin implant that had migrated down and was sticking out along the jawline, creating little horns. I approached these through the incision in her neck and was able to shave them down so they don’t stick out anymore.

DISCLAIMER: Her lighting is obviously different in the before and the after photo. The lighting in the before photo is from the top down, which is not flattering lighting, and thus her after photo, even with no surgery, would look better. However, you can also see the objective changes to the jawline and neck, especially in the chin down from the side. Unfortunately, we were not yet in the new office for the before photo.
